Soup with beans

Recipe Ingredients

  • 17.5 oz meat (beef or pork)
  • 7 oz beans
  • 7 oz sour or fresh cabbage
  • 4-5 medium potatoes
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 onions
  • 3-4 tablespoons tomato paste
  • root of parsley or parsnip
  • bay leaf
  • salt
  • pepper

Preparation


The amount of ingredients is for a 1 gallon sauce pan.

Soak the beans in cold water for 3-4 hours.

Cut the meat into small pieces, add water, salt, and place on the heat and boil for 1 hour.

Then add beans and boil until it is almost ready (approximately 30-40 minutes).

Peel the potatoes, cut into cubes or strips.

Then, after the beans are ready, add potatoes.

Then add cabbage and boil for 10 minutes.

Mince the onion.

Grate the carrot on a medium grater.

Sauté the onion in vegetable oil.

Add carrots and sauté a little bit.

Then add tomato paste and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add sautéed onion and carrot to the broth.

Add bay leaf, parsley root, pepper. Add salt if necessary. Cook until potatoes are ready.
