Cowberry pie
Recipe Ingredients
- 7 oz cowberry (or cranberry, currant, cherry, etc.)
- 3.5 oz butter or margarine
- 5.5 oz sugar
- 2 eggs
- 10.5 – 12.5 oz flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Cream:
- 7 oz sour cream
- 3.5-5.5 oz sugar
Preparation
Cream butter with sugar.
Add eggs and combine.
Add baking powder and flour and mix the dough, so it is not too tight.
Place the dough on a pan greased with butter (I have a pan that is 10.6” in diameter and 1.2” tall) and create borders.
Wash the cowberry and drain the water. Place berries on the dough and even it out. Bake in the oven at 350F for 35-40 minutes.
Beat the sour cream with sugar.
Add cream to the hot pie. For best results, leave in the fridge for 3-4 hours.
