Smoked Salmon Pasta Recipe (Pasta al Salmone Affumicato)

Smoked salmon pasta recipe. Also known as Pasta al Salmone Affumicato, it's one of the most delish meals you can cook in 20 minutes. See how.

There are hundreds of ways to cook pasta and I’m sure there are tens of different salmon pasta recipes out there. This one is special for us, because it’s how my friends from Italy cook them for us, every time we visit there.

“Pasta con salmone” is the name we use in our family, although it also goes by the (probably better) name of Pasta al Salmone Affumicato.

Doesn’t matter how you call it, this is a very quick dish that you can make in 20 minutes and it’s CRAZY delicious. Don’t ask me about the calories, it’s work each, though.

Smokes Salmon Pasta Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (I usually go with small “elbows” as they are daughter’s favorite).
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon
  • butter
  • sour cream

How to Cook Smoked Salmon Pasta

  • Put some water to boil in a pot. This time don’t use salt, the salmon is very salty and this way you can offset the saltiness. I tried both ways, for us it’s better without adding salt into the pasta.
  • While the pasta boils, cut the salmon it’s small bits.
  • Put some butter in a pan and heat it up a little, add the salmon and cook until it’s white.
  • Add a tablespoon of sour cream (2, if you are me, as I love it) and then cook a little more, until not as runny.
  • If you like the past al dente, take it off the stove, drain and add the salmon. If you are like me and like them mushy, stop the salmon from cooking, give your pasta another boil, drain and combine.

There are cooks who use spices and other ingredients (such as wine and onions), we like them as simple as this. They are crazy delicious.
