Homemade Mayonnaise Recipe (You Can Also Add Yoghurt)

HOMEMADE MAYONNAISE INGREDIENTS

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • salt to taste
  • lemon juice to taste
  • vegetable oil
  • yoghurt (optional)

HOW TO MAKE MAYONNAISE

  • Separate the yolk from the egg white. Put the yolk into a mixing bowl, together with the mustard and a squeeze of lemon juice.
  • Mix these ingredients and start adding a bit of vegetable oil. When it comes to mixing your mayo, anything can work. I have used a wood spatula, a whisk, even my mixer. The trick is to slowly add vegetable oil, at least at first, so it doesn’t split.
  • Add salt and more lemon juice, as needed.
  • If the mayonnaise splits, just add one more teaspoon of mustard and slowly add the broken mayo into it, until it’s creamy again.
  • If you want to have a healthier lighter mayonnaise, add yoghurt to the mix. It’s gonna be amazing. I use this for my deviled eggs recipe at lot and they taste great.
  • That’s it, enjoy your healthier homemade mayonnaise.
